I love this place. Stopped there for a quick snack on the way up to the Blue Mountains one weekend, and nearly stayed too long. It's possibly the best food intersection in Australia. As long as you like Italian. But who doesn't?
And the ricotta cheesecake at Papa's across the road. Wow !

Excellent list, some of which are my close friends. Food blogs are seriously addictive, both for writing and reading :)

Hi Frances,
I was only having the very same conversation with proprietor Ciccio a couple of weeks ago. Having a tweetup, getting them on Twitter. We'll show them how its done. I've gone and grabbed their name.
Thanks for prompting me to do this - speak soon.
Cheers

I reckon you, @NancyGeorges & I could do a Twitter campaign for Salvatore and Ciccio @Gelatomassi . At least they need to be set up on Twitter, want to grab their @name for them? http://twitter.com/Gelato_Messina has theirs. We could hold a TweetUp there. It might be a competition for the best blog between us and @neerav ! Bring the kids!

Hello, I recently organised a TweetUp at Dolcissimo and nearly changed venues after reading those reviews. The reviews for Napoli in Bocca weren't great either. We had a great time- see photos http://twitpic.com/eo40c I agree that Haberfield is a gem of a suburb.
The motto: don't read those reviews. My only complaint is that waiters take blurry photos!

Hi Tony. I've been bouncing around for the past two years, from Melbourne and now New York, but my Australian food blog Gosstronomy.com was started in Sydney and returns to Sydney on Oct 3, so hope I can make onto your list for the next round! I've got 320 followers, so it's good to know at least I'm in the ballpark.

In the meantime, there are lots of very interesting Aussie food experiences here in New York, which has been great to check out. Public is an amazing Nolita restaurant using Australian produce, Kitten Coffee is showing New Yorkers how to make Melbourne-quality lattes, and Tuckshop has brought real meat pies to the East Village. There's a home away from home the next time you visit.
